open the space to the garden

The River ODP team worked closely with the customers on this project, transforming the property over several years into what you see in the pictures below. We removed the existing conservatory and constructed an extension/orangery in its place, featuring a lantern and a rubber roof system. To open up the living area, we installed a steel beam and knocked through walls. Inside, we laid engineered oak flooring throughout most of the downstairs and installed a wood burner.

The exterior of the property was repointed and treated with Stormdry, and we replaced all the wood grain windows and doors with white frames, giving the property a modern contemporary feel. The front door is a slam-shut composite door. We also transformed the garden by installing a decked platform at the same level as the existing patio. Glass balustrades were installed between timber posts, gates were built, and the posts were capped with stainless steel caps.

Finally, we remodelled the kitchen by reconfiguring the layout, creating two pantries, and installing a large roof lantern in the centre of the room. We also modified the utility room. The customers have since moved to downsize and have contracted River ODP to refurbish their new home in Jevington.
